Sonila joined Brunga Law Offices in June 2011. She has graduated with Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) from London Metropolitan University in UK and has a Masters Degree (LL.M) in Business Law from the same university. She completed the requirements of the National Committee Accreditation (NCA) of the Federations of Law Society of Canada (FLSC) and has been called as a lawyer to the Ontario bar. Her main practice areas cover:

  • Permanent Residence applications: Express Entry, Provincial Nominees, Convention Refugees and Protected Persons, applications on humanitarian and compassionate grounds, immigrant investors and self-employed individuals

  • Advising clients on estate matters and preparing their Wills, Testamentary Trusts, Henson Trusts, etc.
  • Preparing Continuing Powers of Attorney for Property and Financial matters
  • Preparing Continuing Powers of Attorney for Personal Care – Applications for Probate (Certificate of Appointment of Estate Trustees with a Will or without a Will)
  • Advising clients on probate assets and non-probate assets, as well as on the Estate Administration Tax
  • Providing advice and representing Estate Trustees in the administration of estates
  • Family law
  • Preparing Separation Agreements including provisions on the division of property, matrimonial home, child support if applicable, spousal support if not released, a detailed parenting plan, financial disclosure/statements, etc.
  • Preparing and representing one party in Marriage Contracts and Cohabitation Agreements
  • Preparing and representation in Divorces
  • Preparing Legal Opinions on foreign divorces
  • Negotiation with the other party until a settlement is reached endeavoring the best protection in the circumstances of my client’s interests
